Many tasks fall within Batman's mission. This post covers how the Batcave allows Batman to maximize his focus no matter what area he is working in. You can attain Batman like focus too by learning about priming, work zones, and how the Batcave acts as a force multiplier.

Batman’s Batcave is as necessary to his being as his ferocious workout routine or his vigorous intellect. Over the years, Batman has had numerous iterations, many of them featuring an interpretation of his famous homebase as well. The version of Batman/Bruce Wayne, as portrayed by Ben Affleck in Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice, gave us an older, more world-weary vigilante than previously seen.

It wasn’t that long ago that this space was merely a pipedream for me. For a long time I had wanted a space for myself, but I had originally envisioned it as a home office. I mean that’s pretty standard, right? It might even have some fun tv/video game stuff in there for when I needed to relax. But, somewhere in the neighborhood of 2013-2015, several of my interests (self-improvement, nerdery, a “man cave”, tech, working out, a need to learn new things) began to coalesce in my mind into something that would be greater than the sum of its parts.
(more…)I recently read Adam Savage’s book, Every Tool’s a Hammer, and it absolutely reinforced a notion I have that is one of the founding beliefs of this site. As we go through life, we build beliefs about who we are, what we do, and what we’re capable of. We’re usually wrong. What I mean, is that through these beliefs about who we are, we also decide, sometimes falsely, who we’re not. We end up needlessly placing self-limiting beliefs on ourselves.
